This medicine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It fights against inflammation and pain, lowers fever and thins the blood.

Bi Profenid uses

  • the basic treatment of inflammatory rheumatic arthritis and certain;
  • the treatment of acute tendinitis, arthritis, back pain, sciatica, and cruralgia, pain following trauma to the musculoskeletal system;
  • the treatment of migraine attack.

The drug may also be prescribed for other ailments not listed above.

Warnings and precautions

This drug should not be used in the following cases:

  • history of allergy or asthma caused by NSAIDs, including aspirin;
  • bleeding;
  • stomach ulcer or duodenum;
  • severe hepatic or renal impairment;
  • severe heart failure;
  • gluten intolerance;
  • pregnancy (from the sixth month).


Any treatment or prolonged NSAID overdose exposes them to serious side effects.

Some situations should lead to no further treatment after medical advice:

  • significant heartburn or black stools and foul can bring irritation or bleeding of the digestive tract;
  • rash, asthma attack;
  • unusual tiredness and intense or sharp and significant decrease in the volume of urine in a person with heart failure, dehydrated and treated with a diuretic.

Precautions are necessary in the elderly or patients with a history of stomach ulcer or duodenal ulcer or bleeding risk, including tract (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis).

Some doctors believe that the anti-inflammatory drugs may reduce the effectiveness of IUDs and expose to the risk of unwanted pregnancy. This risk is currently very controversial.

BI-drug interactions with other substances Profenid

This medication may interact with other medicines, including:

  • Aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): risk of increased side effects;
  • anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents (PLAVIX. ..): increased risk of bleeding;
  • lithium (TÉRALITHE): increased levels of lithium in the blood;
  • methotrexate.

Tell also your doctor or pharmacist if treatment with a diuretic, an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, angiotensin II, a beta blocker or a medication containing cyclosporine.
