Other Drug Interactions

Associated administration with propranolol boosts AUC, Cmax, and T1/2 of glimepiride. Aspirin boosts the average AUC of glimepiride. Furosemide amplifies the Cmax of metformin.

Possibly critical: NSAIDS, sulfonamides, salicylates, coumarins, probenecid, MAOs, chloramphenicol, and beta blockers initiate the hypoglycemic activity of glimepiride.

Dosage and administration

Oral

For patients suffering from diabetes mellitus (Type 2)

Adult: A tablet of Glimy M is formulated with 1 Mg of glimepiride  and 250 mg of metformin   or 2 mg of glimepiride and 500 mg of metformin: Use the drug as instructed. Titrate as per reaction.

Use before or after food as directed by your physician.

List of Contraindications

•          Allergic reaction diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA);

•          CHF (CHF), patients going through radiological studies;

•          Renal dysfunction;

•          Severe or persistent metabolic acidosis.

•          Contradicted during pregnancy as well as lactation.

Storage

Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct light, heat or moisture. Keep it away from children and infants.
